This discipline requires the shooter to stand unsupported without the assistance of a rest. Senior shooter's or those with a medical condition may sit to shoot.
Shooters will shoot a 40 shot or a 60 shot match dependent on their grade/level of ability. There are six grades starting from "E" to "Master", ensuring every one can participate in all competitions.
Shooting is a sport that takes time and practice to master. To allow all shooters to compete fairly at competitions, a grading system is used. Grades are calculated by shooter's achieving a score range 6 times in club shooting or twice at competition shooting. New shooters who have not been graded can still compete and will be entered as "U" ungraded.
